OnCourse - Link to File Manager Tutorial

Context

This project was conducted for an instructional design and production course in fall 2003.

Conditions

This tutorial was developed for an undergraduate introduction to computers course for education students. We were asked to design an instructional activity to teach students how to send a link to a document in their "File Manager" through OnCourse (a CMS). A group of three designers did the analysis, design, and development for the project. We determined that learners would best be served by learning in an environment most like the one they were asked to use, so a copy of the CMS interface was used to simulate the use of the real thing.

Scope

This project was brought to completion, but I do not believe it is currently being used in the course that it was developed for. As far as I know, the project ended with the instructional design and production course it developed in.

Role

My role in this project consisted of designing the instructional approach, designing the website structure, adapting the OnCourse design and programming for instructional use, and doing light JavaScript programming for website interaction.
