Change Management

SharePoint

SharePoint TemplateContext

The SharePoint implementation is an ongoing project of the Business Processes (BP) group. This was project was carried out as part of my job with the group.

Conditions

SharePoint technologies allow for quick customization (through configuration) of collaborative Web spaces. Above all, though, the process uses SharePoint as a proxy for change. The analysis, rapid prototyping, user testing all shine at light (with help from the BP group) on a department/group's practices, which, brings about opportunities for change. The process used to carry out this change management is similar for all incidences: analysis, design & development (rapid prototyping & production), user testing, training, re-design, and implementation

Scope

Currently, there are numerous SharePoint projects at various stages in the process. Some of the projects that I am working on are at the later stages and are proceeding well, with department/group staff receiving training to enable them to customize their own SharePoint sites, thus transferring the power from the developers to the users. This is an ongoing project and one that shows a real potential to address issues, both technical and procedural, in the everyday workings of departments/groups in the School of Education.

February 9, 2006

I am part of a team (3 members) of business processes analysts that work both individually and collaboratively to address many departmental/group issues, both with SharePoint and without. I have filled various roles in different projects, but taken as a whole, I have done each step in the SharePoint implementation process: analysis, design & development, user testing, training, re-design, and implementation.
